Innovation is an important element within APF Villeneuve machine shop. Instead of being resistant to change, we are ahead of it with the aim of ensuring continuous improvement of our industrial metal manufacturing techniques.
We never hesitate to implement new technologies. We constantly use collaborative robots paired with numerical control machine tools, which completely automate the production line. The result : an increased productivity, a safer environment and a reduction of the risk of errors.
All these changes are not meant to replace our workforce. In fact, innovation has become an important ally for our employees. Robots have been introduced in our facilities to help our workers to quickly respond to large demands of equipment components. They mainly contribute to reduce stress and pressure that might affect our employees facing a well-filled order book.

Our approach
Over the past few years, APF Villeneuve has dedicated itself to improving its working methods. Our team had a training session about the PVA (value-added production) and Kaizen approaches. Following this training, several changes have been made to our processes and facilities, in order to increase our efficiency.
The PVA aims for an increased production, a better use of resources and the improvement of operations. The implementation of this management methodology allows us to ensure that each stage of production has an added value, in addition to offering a greater flexibility. By encouraging work team, this approach gives back the employee its importance.
The Kaizen technique aims for continuous improvement through a series of changes, which slowly lead to a bigger objective. We have made it our philosophy and, gradually, have made several improvements at all levels, towards an optimization of our methods, resources and our facilities.
